At Soldiers of Our Shepherd (SOS), we are dedicated to providing compassionate, inclusive spiritual care and guidance to individuals across the Fox Valley and beyond. As a roving community chaplaincy, our mission is to meet people where they are, offering support and understanding regardless of their faith or belief. We believe in the transformative power of spiritual connection and aim to be a source of hope, comfort, and companionship in times of need. Through our ministry, we strive to embody the teachings of love, acceptance, and service, fostering a community where every individual is valued and heard. Our commitment is to walk alongside you in your journey, sharing in both the challenges and joys, and helping to illuminate the path with faith, empathy, and understanding.
At Soldiers of Our Shepherd, our beliefs are deeply rooted in the teachings and truths of the Holy Scriptures, reflecting a message of love, redemption, and unity. As a roving community chaplaincy, we carry these beliefs with us wherever we go, serving those in need across various settings. Our beliefs form the foundation of our ministry at SOS. We are committed to serving and supporting those in need, both within and beyond the walls of traditional church settings.
We believe in the complete divine inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, which are of supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct. "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." - 2 Timothy 3:16
We embrace the doctrine of the Holy Trinity, recognizing one eternal God in three co-eternal and co-equal Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." - Matthew 28:19
Our faith is anchored in the perfect deity and humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in His virgin birth, His miracles, and His bodily resurrection and ascension. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." - John 1:1
We believe that Christ came to offer salvation to all, extending His grace and love universally. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16
We await with hope the coming again of Jesus Christ, anticipating His universal reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also." - John 14:3
We recognize the personal ministry of the Holy Spirit, Who indwells the believer and empowers for a life of Christian faith and service. "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you." - John 14:26
We affirm the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, bound together by faith and love. "There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call." - Ephesians 4:4
